Clinical Intake Coordinator: Position Filled

There is an opening for our next Clinical Intake Coordinator position at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy in NYC, beginning May 1st, 2024. This staff member screens prospective patients who are interested in pursuing cognitive-behavioral therapy. They provide a brief description of CBT and DBT, interview prospective clients on the phone, and screen them for assignment to the appropriate therapist. In addition, he or she collects payments, schedules patients, and performs other office responsibilities. The Intake Coordinator attends weekly didactic case conferences and can attend weekend workshops when they are offered. This role is ideal for someone interested in pursuing graduate school for mental health (Ph.D., Psy.D., Masters, medical school, etc.). Requirements:
  • NY-based
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably majoring or minoring in Psychology
  • Interest in clinical psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and/or child and adult psychopathology.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and organizational abilities
  • Someone mature, responsible, compassionate, and can multi-task
  • Available to come to the office from Monday – Friday (150 East 58th Street in Midtown Manhattan)

Post-Doctoral Fellow: Position Filled

The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our established practice in New York City beginning in summer 2024. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or PsyD from an APA approved clinical program and will have completed an internship focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy. Our clientele is sophisticated New Yorkers who expect state-of-the-art care. Initially, work can be hybrid or in-person depending on conditions. We have weekly case conferences and often invite international speakers to present. We have weekly DBT team meetings where team members coordinate care and engage in group supervision. Post-doctoral fellows receive individual and group supervision from senior staff psychologists. Compensation: Post-doctoral Fellows receive a highly competitive base salary with the possibility of earning more depending on productivity. Many Fellows over the years have become senior staff clinicians where significantly higher remuneration is possible. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is chosen. Senior Staff Psychologist: Position Filled

The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is seeking a New York licensed psychologist to join our established practice in New York City beginning in September. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or PsyD from an APA approved clinical program and will have completed a Post-doctoral year focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy. You must be licensed in New York State before commencing employment. Our clientele is sophisticated New Yorkers who expect state-of-the-art care. We are interested in excellence regardless of area of expertise and we are looking for someone who can join our team in September. Initially, work can be hybrid or in-person depending on conditions. We have weekly case conferences and often invite international speakers to present. We have weekly DBT team meetings where team members coordinate care and engage in group supervision. The ideal candidate will also be expected to do some supervision and build on the already significant skill sets of our staff. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is chosen.

Compensation: Base salary of $85,000 with the possibility of earning more depending on productivity. The range has been up to $126,000 for the first year. More senior staff earn substantially more.
